Bergamottix collects and uses personal data to process orders, answer customer questions, and keep the shop running. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for visitors in the European Union and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents.

Who controls your data

trading as Bergamottix, 44 Rue Pierre Joseph Proudhon, 78800 Houilles, France. Email: info@bergamottix.my. Phone: +33 7 50 69 22 75.

What we collect

When you place an order, we collect your name, delivery address, email address, phone number, and the details of what you bought. We do not see or store your full card number. Visa and MasterCard payments are processed by our payment provider, and PayPal payments are handled inside PayPal's own system.

When you browse the site, we collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. We use cookies for essential site functions and for basic analytics. You can block non-essential cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the checkout may stop working if you block everything.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

We use order data to perform the contract you entered into when you bought from us. That includes taking payment, dispatching the parcel, and handling returns. We use contact data to answer your emails and to send transactional messages such as order confirmations and tracking numbers. For analytics and site improvement, we rely on our legitimate interest in running a functional shop, and you can object to this at any time by writing to info@bergamottix.my. We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked for them, and you can unsubscribe from any marketing email with one click.

Who we share it with

Carriers (Colissimo, Chronopost, Colis Privé) receive the name, address, and phone number needed to deliver your parcel. Payment providers receive the payment data needed to process the transaction. Our website hosting and email provider store data on servers located in the European Union. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for the period required by French accounting and tax rules, currently 10 years from the end of the financial year. Customer service emails are kept for 3 years after the last exchange. Analytics data is kept in a form that does not directly identify you for up to 14 months. When the retention period ends, the data is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to certain uses. You can also ask for your data in a portable format. Write to info@bergamottix.my with "Data request" in the subject line. We reply within one month and may ask for proof of identity so that someone else cannot access your data.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés), 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, or online at cnil.fr. You can also complain to the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

For California residents

If you live in California, you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and how we use them, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any of these rights, write to info@bergamottix.my or call +33 7 50 69 22 75. You will not be treated differently for making a request.

Children

The shop is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given data to us, write to info@bergamottix.my and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. If the change is significant, we will post a notice on the homepage for 14 days.
